Tuesday, Oct. 14th, will offer an opportunity to spend the day sharpening your skills and expanding your toolbox for "getting better at getting better." Participants will select either one of the workshops or the Innovation Tour during registration.

INNOVATION TOUR 

Tuesday, Oct. 14th | 8:00am - 5:00pm MT 

 

Experience innovation in action during a full-day guided visit to Fort Collins and the High Plains Library District. This exclusive excursion is limited to approximately 50 participants, who will travel together by chartered bus. Upon arrival, attendees will split into two groups of 25 and embark on one of two tour tracks—each offering behind-the-scenes access to dynamic community systems driving improvement and excellence.

Option 2 – Police Services & Recycling Center

Lean and Six Sigma: Fundamental Tools for Process Improvement

Tuesday, Oct. 14th | 8:00am - 3:00pm MT

Engage in two dynamic, hands-on simulation games that bring Lean Six Sigma principles to life. In the morning, participants will run a LEGO-based production game to uncover process inefficiencies. In the afternoon, they'll switch to a service-based coffee shop simulation, applying tools to reduce errors and improve customer experience. Perfect for both manufacturing and service sectors.

How Do I Know if My Team is Healthy? An Introduction to Organization Health

This interactive session explores how leaders have applied Patrick Lencioni’s Five Dysfunctions of a Team framework to strengthen team dynamics during both stress and success. Many teams struggle with common pitfalls—self-protection, poor communication, silos, over-reliance on the leader, and underperformance.
Through real-life examples and peer discussion, you'll identify what could be better for your team and walk away with practical tools to build a more resilient, collaborative, and results-driven group.

The Power of We: Using Everything DiSC to Elevate Organizational Learning & Team Excellence

Discover how to build stronger teams by understanding working styles, navigating conflict, and enhancing collaboration through the Everything DiSC framework. This interactive session equips participants with practical strategies to align communication and drive team performance.

From Chaos to Clarity: The Growth Alignment Framework™ in Action

In this interactive, hands-on session, participants will explore the Growth Alignment Framework™ to understand why organizational maturity—not size or tenure—is the true driver of sustainable success. Attendees will identify their organization’s stage of growth, pinpoint their current Crisis Catalyst™, and learn practical strategies to accelerate progress. Using the Core Value Index™ (CVI) assessment, participants will uncover their leadership “hard-wiring” and explore how it influences performance. To top it off, everyone will leave with a customized roadmap and tools to align leadership, culture, and systems for breakthrough results.

Asking Five Big Questions to Get Better at Getting Better (Shh… Don’t Say It’s Baldrige)

In this interactive, hands-on session, participants will become familiar with five key performance excellence questions and learn how to apply them in their organizations to drive improvement.  For each of the five key questions, participants will see best practices, share ideas in  small group discussion, and reflect on what drives performance excellence.  Better yet, all attendees will use a brief assessment tool to better understand how their organization is performing and what are key strengths and opportunities. To top it off, attendees will leave with a takeaway to guide next steps. 

Impact Workshop: Community Data Lab

Tuesday, Oct. 14th | 8:00am - 3:00pm MT 

Facilitated by Communities of Excellence


This interactive, hands-on workshop is designed for community leaders who want to make smarter, more meaningful use of community data to advance local priorities.
Participants will bring their own strategic action plans, datasets, or community goals—and work alongside peers and expert facilitators to explore what they are, could be, and should be measuring to build healthier, more collaborative communities.
